This webinar series offers ongoing professional development and a refresher to Welding Supervisors to keep them updated on the recent developments with the standards and offer a platform to ask questions.

This Webinar Series has been developed as a refresher course for welding professionals with expertise in the field. It is especially relevant to AS/NZS 2214 Welding Supervisors, Welding Specialists and Engineers to wish to stay updated on several hot topics that will be covered in this webinar series. It will also be very relevant to welding inspectors and NDT personnel.
The Webinar Series will be based on the following standards framework: NZS 3404; AS/NZS 5131; AS/NZS 1554 Part 1, 2, 3 and 6, AS/NZS ISO 3834 Part 2, AS/NZS 1664, AS/NZS ISO 17637; AS/NZS 9606.1; and AS/NZS 2980. The webinars will also make references to ISO, EN, ASME and AWS standards.

Alan McClintock | HERA Senior Welding Engineer
A qualified welder, Alan is also a welding supervisor and IIW Welding Inspector IWI-C, and an IIW Welding Technologist. He has considerable experience with New Zealand and Australia welding related structural standards and related quality control procedures. Alan is a lead auditor for Steel Fabricator Certification (SFC) Scheme.
Michail Karpenko | HERA GM Welding Centre
Michail, an IIW International Welding Engineer, is a member of the Standards New Zealand and Standards Australia Committees including WD-003 “Welding”. He was involved in the revision and updating of welding standards such as AS/NZS 1554, AS/NZS ISO 3834, DR ISO 17607, AS/NZS 5131. He is a lead auditor for the Steel Fabricator Certification (SFC) Scheme and was actively involved in its establishment.
Ozgur Erdem | HERA Senior Welding Engineer
Ozgur has worked extensively on the delivery of industrial plant projects globally in many roles at different levels in the fabrication and construction of boilers, reactors, pressure vessels, structural steels and piping systems of oil & gas, nuclear and thermal power (CCGT and coal fired) plants in Turkiye, Russia, Albania, Libya and Iraq.
He was a lecturer of welding inspection courses at international training organisations in Europe, North Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and South America.
Volkan Yakut | HERA Principal Welding Engineer
Volkan Yakut, a BS Mechanical Engineer and International Welding Engineer with an MSc, brings nearly three decades of diverse global experience in manufacturing. From lecturing at universities to managing pivotal roles in manufacturing and construction projects, he has contributed to major projects across New Zealand, Turkey, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. Specializing in advanced manufacturing technologies, welding, and mechanical testing, Volkan is deeply committed to continuous improvement and staying updated with technological advancements. Since 2019, he has enriched the local metal community through his expertise at HERA.
Holger Heinzel | HERA Senior Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing | Industry 4.0 Cluster Lead
Holger Heinzel, a Mechanical Engineer, focuses on clean energy power generation research with an emphasis on materials. His interests encompass advanced materials, fabrication methods, pressure design, and automation, considering their politico-economic implications. He contributes to sheet metal formability studies, aids in delivering research facilities, and develops innovative technologies for high-volume production. Holger is committed to HERA’s international, multidisciplinary team, striving to advance the metals industry.
