Have recently received his SuperGold card, Carl Davies, General Manager of the National Association of Steel Framed Housing Inc. (NASH), has decided to move on. His last day will be Friday 22nd July.
Carl intends to take time out before potentially seeking other opportunities. NASH Chairman Gordon Barrat will temporarily undertake the duties of General Manager until a replacement is appointed.
During his eight year tenure, NASH has seen the market share for light steel framing increase dramatically from 1% to 8%, the development of a number of NASH publications, the introduction of light steel framing to Polytechnic curricula, and the publication of New Zealand’s first industry Standard to be cited in the Building Code, in addition many more achievements.
It has been an interesting journey in many ways says Carl who is proud of the leaps and bounds NASH has made over the last number of years.
“If I were to be asked about my most favourite part of the job, it will have to be advocacy, lobbying, networking and promotion. Being a one-man band, these aspects were essential for industry and Government recognition.”
