Please join us in welcoming Intern Hayley Ngo into the HERA fold.
Hayley will be investigating the state-of-the-art of Construction 4.0 globally and here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Construction 4.0 is the application of Industry 4.0 technologies and approaches in Construction. As part of the HERA research project, Hayley is completing a literature review on the state-of-the-art of Construction 4.0 globally and in New Zealand.
She’ll be commencing her 4th year as an Engineering student at Auckland University of Technology, majoring in Construction. She was attracted to engineering because she enjoys working with people. She chose Construction as she doesn’t want to be stuck in an office.
Previously she was involved in the AUT STEM Woman’s Club which then had around 700 members. She is also a student member of HERA and attended HERA’s 2020 Vision Future Forum on an attendance scholarship funded by Kemppi.
Hayley has previously completed a 1 year internship at Hynds Pipe Systems as an Assistant Engineer.
Hayley applied for an internship with HERA as she wanted to gain some research experience and is considering doing a PhD once her under-graduate degree is completed.
Hayley’s career vision is to be part of the construction industry building healthier homes in low social economic areas. Hayley’s career goal is to be a Project Manager on a construction site.
In the future, Hayley would love to see more woman in the Engineering and Construction sector and especially in management. She hopes for construction teams to be more educated and diverse, especially with accepting women into the industry.
