The AGGAT program is now getting re-shaped and refined for delivery of its outcomes in the next two years, with a specialist team of researchers being included from the University of Auckland to various research aims.
What has been particularly exciting has been our use of the planning tool of cause and effect (Ishikawa or fishbone) diagrams, which clearly encapsulate how the many complex elements work together to deliver required research outcomes of use to industry and facilitate effective management of the programme.
Some of the additions made to the program include:
- The addition of fluids research to the program under the research theme of Materials and Fluids (Research Aim 1-2)
- Consideration of lubricants research in the Organic Rankine Cycle development (Research Aim 2-1)
- Greater focus on practical geothermal scaling outcomes (Research Aim 1-3)
A greater proportion of the programme (50%) will now be under the direct research leadership of HERA, which will also enable greater synergy from interactions between AGGAT research activities and HERA members / industry contributions.
A number of overseas collaborations which have been in development for some time are also coming to fruition and will make a notable contribution to the programme as we move along.
