The Above Ground Geothermal and Allied Technologies (AGGAT) science research programme initiated as a collaborative effort in October 2012 between NZ Universities, Heavy Engineering industry and Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
The program recently went through its 2 year progress review, upon which MBIE will advise of its continuation of funding for the next 2 years.
The reviewers submitted their report with positive recommendations to MBIE and HERA (the contractor) with some suggestions on programme content. HERA took this opportunity to fully reassess where the program is going and have submitted a revised programme taking account of the reviewer’s suggestions to MBIE for consideration. The review outcome is anticipated in the next few weeks.
