On the 1st of July, the new IPENZ Code of Conduct came into force. This is an essential document for everyone in the engineering profession, even if not an IPENZ member.
Changes in the new Code include:
- A new obligation to report potential adverse consequences. This means that you must take action if you observe something of concern.
- You are now required to report suspected significant breaches of the Code by other engineers who are bound by the Code.
- There is an explicit obligation to keep your knowledge and skills up to date, and to treat others with respect and courtesy.
HERA congratulates IPENZ to a job well done and encourages every professional to get well informed and act within its framework.
