Reza Kordani
Structural Engineer
I’m a Structural Engineer with over four years’ experience working in the New Zealand construction industry.
I have worked on a wide variety of projects including buildings, water treatment plants, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
At HERA, my main responsibility is developing technical solutions for structural engineering practitioners – making a bridge between the construction industry and research institutions to promote best practices and evolve our design guides.
I have been involved with several research and development projects. This has included developing simplified design guideline for rocking structures (my PhD thesis), novel methods to strengthen historical tall chimneys using steel frames, innovative design of wind turbine footings, and similar.
My experience in the steel industry, has also allowed me to become familiar with the needs of our members and understand their challenges in their day-to-day workflow. My aim is to deliver smarter solutions that can benefit our members and future proof our industry.
As a dedicated and enthusiastic structural engineer and researcher I am so proud to be part of this progressive and diverse enterprise. Working at HERA enable me to utilise my passion for innovative design methods and future-focused research projects.
