Farra Engineering
Chief Financial Officer
A sustainable future for our industry means changing attitudes both inside and outside our businesses and I am honoured to have the opportunity to be a contributor to this as part of HERA’s Executive Board.
I’m based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin
I have a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting
I’m a Chartered Accountant with the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants
My specialities are in financial and compliance leadership, building strong teams and businesses, leading change and building culture
I’m a professional with over 25 years’ experience as a chartered accountant, most recently working in the construction and engineering sectors. Currently, I’m the Chief Financial Officer of Farra Engineering Ltd based in Dunedin.
My value lies in my financial skillset, leadership, strategic and diverse point of view supported by relevant industry experience. Experienced in change management, I personally led a multi-year organisational change programme and understand what it means to enter a male dominated industry by being the first female manager at Farra, replacing my predecessor of 21 years. My executive leadership skill set includes contributing at board meetings, finance and governance compliance, financial management and reporting, strategy, capital investment, human resources and culture.
I’m pragmatic in nature, absorbing information and reflecting prior to reaching a conclusion. I place high value on the power of collaboration to achieve the optimal outcome and form excellent working relationships with an array of personalities. I pride myself on being committed, responsible and dependable by nature and being able to see engineering through a different lens to those traditionally involved in the industry.
I’ve experienced what engineering traditionally has been and have a vision for what engineering can be. Engineering is a creative, innovative, solution focussed, value add, sustainable art form, built upon technical excellence. The longevity of engineering in NZ will be driven by improving inclusiveness within, and collaboration across the industry.
