This software tool calculates and optimises intumescent costs for steel fabricators and specifiers.
It does this by simplifying the process and calculating and optimising the required intumescent paint thickness for various steel sections providing alternate options to the user so the most cost-effective option can be selected.
Minimal data input required: by following a ‘maxi-calculator’ approach, users only need to enter their designed member detail, such as the steel section, fire exposure, Fire Resistance Rating (FRR), and design temperature.
Pre-loaded steel section properties: the tool comes equipped with standard steel section properties, section factors, and intumescent certificate data, making it easy for users to optimise their fire protection strategy without needing to enter extensive information.
Cost estimation: H.I.T. estimates the cost of the intumescent paint based on the input, allowing users to compare costs across sections with equal or greater performance. This enables a more informed decision on the most cost-effective option.
User-friendly: providing fast, reliable results, saving time while maintaining precision in fire protection planning.
