I’m a recipient of a 2024 ACM CRC Scholarship

I report in to Prof. Luming Shen and A/Prof. Daniel Dias-da-Costa

I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney (USYD).

My research journey and expertise come from diverse experiences, including my Master of Professional Engineering degree from USYD, where I graduated with an 83 WAM, and a Bachelor’s degree from the Harbin Institute of Technology – one of China’s top engineering universities.

Throughout my studies and professional career, I’ve been deeply involved in several research initiatives. These projects focus on integrating AI, Virtual Reality (VR), and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create digital twin models, which hold significant potential for real-world construction applications. My expertise includes site inspections, report compiling, AutoCAD drafting, 3D modeling with Revit, VR modeling using Unreal Engine, and interactive environment simulation.

Additionally, I’m skilled in basic C++ coding and customer relationship management, which I leveraged during my time as a Civil/Remedial Engineer at Total Building Engineering Solutions.

In my current role with the ACM CRC research team at HERA, I am supervised by Prof. Luming Shen and A/Prof. Daniel Dias-da-Costa. This involves exploring advanced technologies such as big data analysis, AI, and machine learning to optimise design, minimise waste, and contribute to a more sustainable construction industry.

Leveraging these tools can lead to significant advancements, such as optimising the assembly and disassembly of structural components, which supports resource conservation and environmental protection. This work is set to drive innovation by enabling the reuse of structural elements from demolished buildings, presenting a new approach to infrastructure development.

I’m thrilled to be a part of this journey with HERA and am looking forward to the impact we’ll create in advanced manufacturing and sustainable construction.
