Being an architect within the recycling industry allows me to examine how the industry adapts to change and challenge the status quo.

Iโ€™m based in Tฤmaki Makaurau, Auckland

I am a New Zealand registered commercial architect with 30 years of experience in the construction industry.

After graduating from the University of Auckland, I pursued further studies at the University of California and Berkeleyโ€™s College of Environmental Design. My career took me to San Francisco, London, and Shanghai, where I practiced for eight years before returning to Aotearoa.

My focus has since shifted to construction and demolition resource recovery and recycling. I co-own and manage Phoenix Metalman Recycling, a nationwide metal recycling business primarily serving the construction sector. I am a graduate of the Sustainable Business Councilโ€™s Sustainable Leadership Programme and currently serve as vice chair on the Sustainable Steel Council executive board.

Additionally, I sit on the NZ Association of Metal Recycling board as the Environmental Sub-Committee Chair and am a member of the NZGBC Expert Reference Panel (ERP) for Construction & Waste.
