I’m passionate about driving real change in how we design and build, and I’m proud to contribute to HERA’s purpose of creating a more sustainable and resilient future. Through my work, I aim to turn research into impact—supporting the industry in lowering emissions, embracing innovation, and building with the planet in mind.

Did you know…

I joined the HERA whānau in 2025!

I speak Arabic & English

When I was five, I dreamed of becoming a teacher—not because I loved school, but because teachers seemed like superheroes to me.

They were strong, confident, and always seemed to know everything. I believed every word they said, and in my eyes, they held the truth. That sense of admiration sparked my desire to one day be someone others could look up to, someone who inspires through knowledge and presence.

By Day At HERA, I work at the intersection of structural engineering and sustainability, helping to advance low-carbon design practices across New Zealand’s construction sector. My role involves technical research, industry collaboration, and the development of practical solutions to reduce the environmental impact of structural systems—particularly using low-carbon steel and sustainable design frameworks.

By Night In the evenings, I like to slow things down. My favourite way to unwind is taking a walk with my wife and enjoying the quiet beauty of the night sky. It’s a simple routine that helps me stay grounded and appreciate the bigger picture—both in life and in the universe.

My long-term vision is to contribute meaningfully to a future where the built environment no longer compromises the health of our planet. I dream of a world where materials are reused in closed loops, emissions are no longer an externality, and our cities exist in harmony with natural ecosystems. At the heart of this vision is a commitment to helping the Earth recover—striving, wherever possible, to return it to a state that reflects the balance and integrity it held before industrial disruption.
