Description
This report analyses current and future steel stocks and flows in New Zealand under different recycling, reuse, scrap collection, and grid decarbonisation scenarios. It evaluates the emissions reduction potential of interventions such as Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) adoption, increased scrap recovery, and structural steel reuse. The study also identifies barriers to steel circularity and highlights the importance of integrated supply chains, digital solutions such as material passports, circularity education, and government support.
