About this software

Key features

Running fire resistance checks on a dozen steel members, by hand, on a deadline, means the method can shift from one member to the next. FaST keeps it consistent: bare steel check, protection type, coating thickness, in that order, every time.

Two engineers assessing the same steel member can land on different answers. A different critical temperature assumption, a different section factor convention, a different fire curve, and the numbers shift. Both approaches might hold up on their own, but put them side by side and a reviewer has to work out whether the gap is a genuine design difference or just a difference in method.

FaST removes that guesswork. It runs every assessment through the same three questions, in the same order, every time.

FAst software supports:

  • Bare steel fire resistance checks against required FRR
  • Protection type selection, including plasterspray and plasterboard
  • Coating thickness calculations that account for section factor, building position, and fire curve
  • Consistent results across multiple members, so a batch of assessments follows the same method throughout

Key features

  • Bare steel FRR check first, so you only assess protection when it’s actually needed
  • Protection type guidance for plasterspray and plasterboard
  • One consistent method across every member, so results don’t depend on who ran the calculation
  • Built for running multiple assessments accurately, on a deadline
